IB Security Assistant MTS Previous Year Question Paper: The most recent notice for the hiring of security assistants (SA)—executive and multi-tasking staff (MTS)—general in the subsidiaries of the Intelligence Bureaux, Government of India, has been issued by the Intelligence Bureau (IB), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Here are some important key points about the IB Security Assistant and MTS Tier-1 Exam Pattern:
- Question Type and Exam Mode: The IB Security Assistant and MTS exams are based on objective-type or multiple-choice questions and will be conducted in online mode.
- Sections: The IB Security Assistant and MTS exam consists of five sections, which are: general awareness, quantitative aptitude, numerical/analytical ability and reasoning,English language, and general studies.
- Duration, Total Marks, and Total Questions: The examination will last for 60 minutes and consist of 100 questions, each worth 100 marks. Each question is worth one point.
- Negetive Marking: The IB Security Assistant and MTS exams have negative marking. There is a negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer.
- Cut-off: To be eligible for the IB Security Assistant and MTS exams, you must pass each of the four sections.
- Language: Except for the Test of English Language, all of the tests will be available in both English and Hindi.

IB Security Assistant & MTS Tier-2 Exam Pattern:
After passing the Tier-1 exam, candidates must take the Tier-2 exam, which has two parts:
- Part 1 (common for all candidates): a passage consisting of 500 words that was translated from the local language to English and vice versa. The offline descriptive test will last one hour and be worth 40 marks.
- Part 2 (only for SA/Exe) Speaking ability [to be evaluated during the Tier-III interview and personality test]
- The Tier-II exam serves as a qualification. For SA/Exe, the Tier-2 qualifying marks are 20 out of 50, and for MTS/Gen, they are 16 out of 40.
IB Security Assistant & MTS Tier-3 Exam Pattern:
The Intelligence Bureau will hold a 50-mark interview round for candidates who achieve a passing score on the Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams. Candidates who pass this stage will be shortlisted to fill 1671 posts. This will be the final stage of the selection process.
