CTET Previous Year Question Paper : The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national-level competitive examination in India conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). CTET is designed to assess the eligibility and competence of candidates aspiring to become teachers in the primary (Classes I–V) and upper primary (Classes VI–VIII) levels of the Indian school education system.
CTET is held twice a year, typically in July and December, and consists of two papers:
- Paper-I: This is for candidates aspiring to teach at the primary level (Classes I–V).
- Paper-II: This is for candidates aspiring to teach at the upper primary level (Classes VI–VIII).
Both papers contain multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering topics related to Child Development and Pedagogy, Languages I and II (chosen from a list of prescribed languages), Mathematics, Environmental Studies (for Paper-I), and Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Science (for Paper-II), depending on the subjects the candidate intends to teach.
CTET scores are used as eligibility criteria by various central and state government schools and private institutions across India for the recruitment of teachers. Qualifying CTET is a crucial step for individuals aiming to pursue a teaching career in India, as it certifies their competence and knowledge in pedagogy and subject matter, enhancing their prospects in the education sector.
