NIACL Assistant Previous Year Question Paper: The NIACL Assistant Examination is a gateway to joining the New India Assurance Company Limited (NIACL) as an Administrative Officer. This two-stage recruitment process assesses your skills in English, reasoning, numerical ability, general awareness, and computer knowledge (main exam only). The preliminary exam is online and consists of 100 MCQs for 60 minutes, while the main exam (if you qualify) is also online with 200 MCQs for 120 minutes.

NIACL Assistant Exam Pattern 

Exam Structure:

The NIACL Assistant exam comprises three stages:

  1. Preliminary Exam: This is a computer-based online test (CBT) with objective-type questions. Qualifying at this stage is mandatory to proceed further.
  2. Main Exam: This is also a CBT with objective-type questions but carries a higher weight compared to the preliminary exam.
  3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates from the Main Exam are called for a personal interview for final selection.

Preliminary Exam:

  • Sections: Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability, and English Language.
  • Number of Questions: Reasoning Ability 35 questions, Numerical Ability 35 questions, and English Language 30 questions, totaling 100 questions.
  • Maximum marks: 100 marks (1 mark for each section).
  • Time Duration: 60 minutes (20 minutes per section).
  • Marking Scheme: Each correct answer carries one mark. There is a negative marking of 1/3 for each incorrect answer.
  • Language: The language of the exam is English and Hindi.

Main Exam:

  • Sections: Reasoning Ability, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Computer, and General Awareness.
  • Number of Questions: 40 questions in Reasoning Ability, 40 questions in English Language Sections, 40 questions in Quantitative Aptitude, 40 questions in Computer, and 40 questions in General Awareness, totaling 200 questions.
  • Maximum Marks: 250 marks (50 marks for Reasoning Ability, 50 marks for English Language each, 50 marks for Quantitative Aptitude, 50 marks for Computer, and 50 marks for General Awareness).
  • Time Duration: 120 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes).
  • Marking Scheme: Each correct answer carries 1.25 marks. There is a negative marking of 1/3 for each incorrect answer.
  • Language: The language of the exam is English and Hindi.

Interview:

  • Weightage: 20% of the total marks.
  • Format: The interview typically assesses your communication skills, personality, and suitability for the role.
