LIC AAO Syllabus and Exam Pattern: Every year, LIC conducts examinations for different posts in the insurance sector, and lakhs of candidates appear for these examinations.

There are three stages to the LIC AAO selection process: preliminary, mains, and interview, followed by a subsequent pre-recruitment medical examination. To be eligible for the mains, candidates must pass the prelims, and if they are shortlisted, they must also take an interview or personality test.

There are three stages to the LIC AAO exam:

  1. Preliminary (Qualifying)
  2. Main Exam (Scoring)
  3. Interview/Personality Test (Scoring)

LIC AAO Preliminary Exam Pattern 

Here some improtant points about LIC AAO preliminary exam pattern

  • The online preliminary examination will consist of an objective test. The test will have three sections, each with its own timing, as follows:
  • The exam will be conducted online, and the duration will be 1 hour and 60 minutes (20 minutes for each section).
  • There are three sections: reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and English language. Each question is worth one mark.
  • There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks in the prelims exam.
  • The English Language Test will be of a qualifying nature, and the English Language Test marks will not be used to determine a candidate’s ranking.
  • Candidates will be shortlisted for the main exam based on vacancies equal to 20 times the number of positions available in each category.

LIC AAO Main Exam Pattern 

Here some improtant points about LIC AAO main exam pattern

  • A short list of candidates will be selected for the main exam from those who appear in the preliminary exam.
  • Descriptive tests of 25 marks and objective tests of 300 marks will be part of the main exam.
  • Descriptive and objective tests will both be conducted online.
  • On descriptive tests, candidates will be required to type their answers on a computer.
  • The objective test will have time limits for each section.
  • For each incorrect answer, a penalty of one-fourth of a mark will be deducted.
  • An immediate descriptive test will be given after the conclusion of the objective test.
  • Descriptive tests in the English language, etc., will be of a qualifying nature, and English marks will not be used to determine rank.
