SSC CGL Exam Pattern
According to the most recent SSC CGL notification, the SSC CGL selection procedure is divided into two stages: Tier I and Tier II. All candidates must pass all stages and will be chosen based on their performance across all tiers. The SSC CGL examination will be conducted in two tiers as given below:
- Tier 1: Objective Type – Computer Based Examination(CBT)
- Tier 2: Objective Type – Computer Based Examination(CBT)
SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam Pattern
Here are some important key points about the SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam pattern:
- The examination will be of the MCQ type and will be conducted in an online mode.
- The questions will be set in both English and Hindi, except for English Comprehension.
- The question paper will be divided into 4 sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning; General Awareness/GK; Quantitative Aptitude; and English Comprehension.
- There will be a total of 100 questions (each section with 25 questions) for a total of 200 marks. The duration of the examination will be 60 minutes.
- There will be a 0.50 mark penalty for each incorrect answer.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern
Here are some important key points about the SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam pattern:
- The SSC CGL Tier-2 will consist of objective type,multiple choice questions except for the DEST test.
- The SSC CGL Tier-2 exam will be conducted in 3 phases: Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3.
- Paper-I is compulsory for all the posts.
- Paper-II will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme
Implementation. - Paper-III will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer.
- The questions will be set in both English and Hindi, except for English Comprehension.
- There will be a 1 mark penalty for each incorrect answer in Paper-I, and a 0.50 mark penalty for each incorrect answer in Paper-II and Paper-III.
